A: The South African Catholic Bishops Conference [SACBC] – The Department of Laity, Youth Ministry Office, The Durban Youth Ministry Cluster and the Archdiocese of Durban.

Q: What are the Days in Parish?
A: Visits to Parishes within the Durban surrounding areas have been identified for young people to experience how the Parish functions on a daily basis

Q: When will the Days in Parish take place?
A: Sunday, 3rd December to Wednesday, 6th December 2017

Q: When will registration open?
A: April 2017

Q: When will registration close ? 
A: The current MWYD registration is closed.
However only a limited number of the R2250 package is still available for late registrations.
Late Registration only confirmed on full payment received.

Q: How do I register?
A: Young people wishing to participate in the MWYD are requested to contact the Diocesan Chaplains and Youth Ministry Co-ordinators to complete a group registration form for each Diocese.
Contact details of the Diocese and Chaplains are on the MWYD website for ease of reference.

Q: Who should I contact if I need to know more?
A: Diocesan Registration Coordinators list is available on the MWYD website under Attend button the drop down of Procedure will give you the contact details

Q: Where will I stay?
A: You will be housed in one of the Appointed Graded Housing establishments contracted by MWYD. The accommodation will be located within the Durban CBD and near the Durban Exhibition Centre.

Q : What bedding must I bring?
A: Accommodation includes all bedding and a bath towel per person sharing a room. Participants will need to bring along their own toiletries and other personal items required.

Q: How will accommodation be allocated and managed
A: All participants will be accommodated as far possible within the Parish that they are from based on their gender and registration type [i.e. Father/Nun/Youth]
Planning has been done working on 4 People per room with a shared bathroom between 4.

Q: What time may I check in?
A: Check in will be from 14h00 on Wednesday, 6th December 2017

Q: What time is check out?
A: Check out will be by 09h00 on Saturday, 9th December 2017

Q: How will I get from my accommodation to the event?
A: Private shuttle transport will be provided for all youth registered and staying at the various accommodation establishments. Parish groups attending together may use their own transportation and park at the DEC parking lot adjacent to the venue for a nominal daily rate.

Q: Catering specification
A: Please indicate on the registration form if you are a vegetarian as special arrangements will be made for non-meat eating attendees only.

Q: What is the age category to join?
A: The official age to attend is between 18-35 years of age.

Q: What about youth aged 16 and 17 years wanting to attend?
A: Young people aged 16 or 17 years that are wanting to participate will need to ensure that the following documentation is completed and appropriate documents submitted to be considered and approve by the organisers to attend:
1. Completed Parental Consent form with parent’s ID documents and youths unabridged birth certificate – all documents to be commissioned;
2. Chaperone form to be completed with ID documents supplied and commissioned;
3. Consent and Approval Letter from the Bishop of the Diocese accepting responsibility of attendance of the youth;
4. The Chaperone and the Youth will need to complete the online registration and both need to pay the registration fee

Q: What is a chaperone?
A: A Parish member over the age of 25 years, that has been baptised and is prepared to take legal responsibility for a young person under the age of 18 not younger than 16 years of the same gender.

Q: What are the criteria to participate?
A: Must be Baptised within the Catholic church and an active member of a Parish that falls within one of the Diocese of Southern Africa. Southern Africa includes Swaziland and Botswana only.

Q: What happens if I register but then can’t come, or want to send a replacement?
A: Please ensure that you confirm your details, funding and entitlements before registering online as no cancellation will be accepted. Only ONE name change or replacement will be permitted after which the full registration rate will be charged.
